2022 Inclusive Service Booklet

Special Education Leaders, Special Education Teachers and Aides in the North Texas region

Our Special Programs department realized that many school district and charter school personnel were unaware of the myriad services we provide in the area of inclusion. This booklet was our attempt to create a brief catalog of available services so that educators could take advantage of opportunities to enhance their own special education programs. This booklet provides critical details about service packages that can be customized to meet the different needs of individual districts.

There is a different ESC specialist assigned to each service package included in the booklet, and collecting consistent, comprehensive information from those individuals was a bit challenging. We were also originally told to make the document digital only. Once they saw the finished product, however, they wanted to print them and hand them out to special education district staff. These changes required a bit of reformatting, but we were pleased with the finished product.

Demand for these booklets has exceeded our expectations. We thought that our Special Programs staff members would need a few copies to take with them as they visited school districts in our region. Once the district personnel saw the booklet, they insisted on keeping it and asking for more copies! We have now printed 200 books, and anticipate that there will be requests for more!
